Waiting in the sun.
We've been in London for almost a year and a half now. We won't lie, we're about ready to move on and base ourselves somewhere new, somewhere warmer and somewhere unknown to us both. But, then we have a weekend at home like we just did, and it reminds us of what you lose by going away.
Spending hours in the supermarket finding all your favourite foods to cook something wonderful in your own kitchen. Testing out new camera gadgets. Wandering around your local park in the fleeting morning sunshine. Doing housework to motown music to make the small space you call home for now feel a little nicer. Actually making time to read that book that you started and loved, but left unopened for too long because, well, the internet and smartphones get in the way. Buying bread from the bakery down the street you've always meant to visit. Making your own healthy granola to make mornings a little sweeter this week. Completing your to-do list for blog and learning goals for the weekend. An early night on the sofa with your favourite show, bottomless cups of tea and sweet + salty popcorn. Being safe and untroubled. Awaking with a clear head and focus to do what you love.
Moments of happiness don't always have to come when you're far away.
How was your weekend?
